Paula Davies Scimeca, RN, MS, obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Adelphi University and her master’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.  Her career has spanned over three decades, with the first ten years spent in medical, surgical and critical care nursing.  With over twenty years’ experience in addiction and psychiatric nursing, her focus has centered on addiction and recovery in nurses since 2003.  The author of “Unbecoming A Nurse” and “From Unbecoming A Nurse to Overcoming Addiction,” she sits on the NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services Nurse Advisory Panel and serves on the Board of Trustees for the International Nurses Society on Addictions’ Foundation for Addiction Nursing.

Lynne is the program manager serving the Children’s Hospital of Michigan RN Residency Program.  She has been responsible for the RN residency program called Transitions for six years at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. It is a program that assists new graduate nurses in transitioning from the school setting into the hospital environment.
